At Heritage Property Tax Consultants, LLC (“Heritage,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), we are committed to providing high-quality consultation services. Because our work involves professional time, research, and custom analysis, we have established the following refund policy:

Refund Policy 

Consultation Fees (Flat Rate or Hourly Services)

Fees paid for initial consultations, flat-rate services, or hourly consultations are non-refundable once the service has been rendered or work has commenced. Work may include one or all of the following:

  • Preliminary tax analysis

  • Document review

  • Verbal or written recommendations

  • Market or comparable assessments

  • Analysis of eligibility for specific exemptions

  • Assistance with applying for property exemptions

  • Assistance with applying for property tax refunds

If a consultation is canceled at least 24 hours in advance, and no work has begun, a refund may be issued minus a small administrative fee (typically 5–10%).

Appeal-Based Services (Contingency or Performance-Based)

If your service agreement is based on a contingency model (e.g., a percentage of tax savings), you are only billed if we achieve a result defined in your engagement terms.

In such cases:

  • If we cannot successfully help you reduce your assessment ratio, assessed property value, or tax liability, your consultation fee is the only fee owed.  

  • Consultation fees are not refundable.

  • Refunds are unavailable if a contingency fee is billed following a successful result, as the fee is tied directly to delivered performance.

Service Cancellations

If you cancel a project after work has started but before completion:

  • You may be billed for the portion of work already completed.

  • Any prepaid amount beyond that may be eligible for a partial refund, at our sole discretion.

 Refund Requests

Refund requests must be submitted in writing within 10 business days of the disputed charge or service issue. Include:

  • Your full name and contact information

  • A description of the service and reason for the request

  • Any relevant documentation or correspondence

We will respond within 5–7 business days with a resolution or request for additional information.

Discretionary Exceptions

We reserve the right to issue refunds outside of this policy in exceptional cases, such as:

  • Billing errors

  • Duplicate payments

  • Technical issues preventing service delivery

All decisions are made at our discretion and will be documented in writing.
